"There is a wonder in reading Braille, that the sighted will never know: to touch words and have them touch you back." Jim Fiebig, famous businessman. I just love this quote he wrote. I can relate a little (not to the degree of reading in braille, which I have always wanted to learn). When I lost my eyesight in one of my eye’s years ago. I could not read or do much of anything. That was the worst experience for me. When I finally got my eyesight back, I rejoiced. Everything was brighter and colors were so amazing. I could see and touch colors, when I only saw darkness when I was blind. That is why the Amazing Grace song makes me cry. Especially the verse…blind but now I can see. Reminds me of my dark days. Myself, before I lost my eyesight... I always took my eyesight for granted. It's not until something is taken away from you, you end up appreciating it a lot more. I suddenly come to the realization to enjoy everything even reading a stop sign, looking at love ones, nature, watching a sunrise, sunset...they are all precious gifts. So, take care of your eyes. After my small experience, I respect anyone who is blind. As the quote above expresses, they can experience things we who can see...cannot.
