When writing a story or a novel you need to know the surrounding for your characters. First you need to narrow down which country for state the story’s going to take place.Doing a little research before, can help with adding details later into your story. This exercise is by randomly picking a country or state you would love to write about.Do some research about what’s the capitol is, state bird, population, weather, state flower, what grows there, what animals lives there, state tree, etc… Check a map to see which states, cities, towns, or countries border around it. List lakes, rivers, streams and oceans.Get to know your setting as much as your know your character. When you get a book publish do not be surprise in the comments someone will nick pick everything from your grammar, editing skills, spelling and even your facts about certain trivia things. It’s better to be prepared to cover all bases.Write in your journal other countries or states to get a feel of doing research while you are writing your stories.Have fun with this project and just maybe you will find out interesting facts about state or country you are writing about.
