This journal writing exercise will bring out your artistic side. Above is example of a book I wrote called Clear the Front Row. I design my cover using MS Publisher and photo shop. I drew the girl using watercolors and pen & ink.
Here is how you can create your own book cover. First, turn to a blank page in your journal writing. Draw a big square box to fill the whole page. Below the square box write down the following:
Author (it can be you or a name your pick out)
Title (Choose a title of a book you wrote or choose a title you like)
Go back to the blank square box design a Book Cover. You can use markers, watercolors, acrylics, pastels or just pen & ink. You can also cut out from magazines pictures and glue into square book. It’s you cover so be creative. Add the title and author. You can use MS Publisher to make fancy headings and just cut them out and paste in your square box. This exercise is just helping you brainstorm on how you would want your book cover to look like. Have fun with this project. You can even look at book covers from other authors to get a feel on how they did it. If you want to go the easy way out you can research book cover designers to help you design a more professional looking covers.

When I wrote Deceptions of Lovely the Echo my intention was to show how having food disorder issues effected me. It was all a mind game seeing my body as not measuring up. The little voice inside of my head kept ringing in my ears. "Too fat...too ugly...need to lose weight so others will you..!" It wasn't until I fainted in school because of not eating. It was a wake up call for me. Always been a HSP (highly sensitive person with lots of allergies and sensitivities. I had issues eating for fear of reactions. So, I would prefer not eating. After my fainting spell, I found help. They helped me find myself and learn to accept myself as me. That lead me to write One of a Kind. Even today it's a daily struggle. It's a work in process. I hope you would get the chance to read Deceptions of Lovely the Echo. Food disorders isn't something to play around with. If you or a love one has food issues please seek help and talk to your medical provider they would guide you for assistant you need.
