Check out my adult fiction book called The Soul Machine Tour by Nickie Korpal. Here is one scene from The Soul Machine Tour.Just as Melvin had the plugs in, he could hear the tour guide speaking and explaining about this human soul. Melvin quickly looked at the tour guide, but his mouth was not moving, Melvin just thought of high tech technology to make that happen or the ear plugs were bug and he tried to brush off the thought as he fight the war of good and evil going through his mind.
‘Don’t believe anything that tour guide is saying Melvin. It is a trick. Let us get out of here and have a good time beer, gambling, and loose woman…this place not for you Melvin let us get the %#@& out of here. And he could hear another voice, listen Melvin, there is good things out there, have faith in God…change your ways before it’s too late.’ Melvin was wrestling with his thoughts, Melvin shook his head trying to keep focus on what the tour guide was saying through the earplugs, “This soul belongs to a woman who read the bible and never spoke harsh words to anyone, she helped others and is loved by everyone. She has a love of God and her Savior Jesus Christ who died for her sins. When she took Jesus Christ as her Savior, God sent the Holy Spirit to live with her and God would never leave you too if you follow suit.” The tour guide adjusted his glasses and turned around to the travelers, “One more thing surrounding earth bound human body may not be strong but please watch the soul.” Melvin sucked on the mint it helped relax his stomach and he felt relax in this cell compared to the last stop. Melvin adjusted his sunglasses, again doubt creeps in, and He pulled off the glasses down his nose to look over them. He could not believe his eyes; the soul was enormous it was the size of a bolder or more like the size of the Himalayas mountain and the surrounding was looking gray just than like a soft breeze there was quiet, and peace and a lampstand stood bright and shining at the top of the soul. Everyone looked at each other, then the tour guide pointed at the soul it got brighter and brighter, the tour guide whispered with excitement. “It time.” The whole room was full of light with a feel of sadness turned into joy when they saw lights entering and the sound of angelic music from cherubim and seraphim sang in unceasing chorus praising with the soul joining in with sweet accords of praising with loud celestial hymns. It was so beautiful, and the harmonious music and lights join as one, it was so bright it blinded Melvin as he pushes his sunglasses back over his eyes. Melvin watched as the soul opened like a tome, a light image joined lights, and they became one. Melvin stood with his mouth wide open; it reminded him of the story of Easter and the resurrection he learned as a child. He was not a bible man, but he remembers the resurrection, the story at church when he was a child when his sweet Mother would whisper the story in his ear, “Melvin, always remember God cares for those who trust in him, do not forget this Melvin.” Melvin could hear the tour guide quoting the bible through the earplugs.” The right of the Lord has struck with power; the right hand of the Lord is exalted. I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord. The stone, which the builders rejected, has become the cornerstone. By the Lord has this been done, it is wonderful in our eyes. Psalm 118:16-17, 23-24.” The travelers covered their eyes to watch the dazzling light, it was so bright going up and up suddenly it was gone, and the cell was quiet, and the soul was gone. Everyone was in awe; they never saw such beauty and love in one place. There was not one dry eye in the small little group... Melvin thought it was the end of the ride, so he pulled out the earplugs, he could hear voices of friends and family crying for this holy woman. Melvin wanted to scream, ‘She is dead, she is the lucky one, she went to heaven do not worry.’ Melvin wiped away a tear, thinking to himself, ‘Was this really death in its finest?’ Tommy the businessman raised his hand, “I did not think the soul left the body where did it go?” Isaiah smiled, “Absent from the body presence with the Lord.” Helen raised her hand, “So when we die it’s like a caterpillar leaving it cocoon and we become a butterfly a new body?” The children got excited, “How cool, did you hear that Mommy.” Pam hugged her children. The tour guide smiling from ear to ear ushered everyone back to the box as Melvin’s steps became slower and slower, his Misses grabbed his arm, he grabbed her, gave it a squeezed, and kissed it lovingly. The woman in the wheelchair wheeled over to get a better view of the empty cell, “If you are dying there is another place…I read so many books on this topic.” Isaiah knelt by Betsy wheelchair talking to her face to face, “Betsy, I know you read the bible and, but did you ask God about heaven?” Betsy smiled sheepishly, “Yes that is the answer, God kept telling me so many times in scripture, but now I saw it first hands…thank you Lord, it gives me peace now.” Betsy looked up heavenly praising God. Helen watches the woman named Betsy, hugging herself, smiling, looking up, and talking under her breath. Helen looked around and said a prayer for her travelers’ friends. God had a plan for everyone one of these souls, how exciting to see God working through a small group of so diverse types of background and even my own and Melvin. Thank you for viewing. The flocks of mallards with Stan in the lead came to a marsh, “We will camp here tonight!” Angie was still disappointed about leaving Willow River but she kept praying as she and her sons touch the cool water it felt so good on her wings, they been flying non-stop the whole day. Stan did not want to stop, fearing the first frost, he has shortened the breaks to just 10 minutes and back up into the sky again. “Mommy, I am so tired!” Ben laid his head on her mother. “Relax, sweetie!” Angie looked around at all the mallards when suddenly she could not find her Jason, giving out a quiet quack, “Come on Ben we must find you brother.” Angie turned the corner behind some cattails and reeds; there was her son, flirting with a female mallard. Angie smiled to herself, but something was wrong the female was not moving, “Angie screamed at the top of her lungs, “JASON!” Out of nowhere came Buttercup she covered Jason with her wings as bullets shot at her as she protected Jason, suddenly Buttercup’s body went lifeless. Little Ben watched his mother turn into a golden light circling Buttercup, quickly Jason flew from under her, like something protecting her as she picks up Jason as bullets started to fly. Angie, Ben and Jason soared high into the clouds. Angie looked back with tears in her eyes as half of her friends where being slaughtered and hung on poles. One hunter held up Stan the lead bird carcass, “Hey, I want this one stuff and hung on my wall, I will send it to taxidermy tonight…the guy at work will be surprise, it’s a beauty.” She could not look anymore when she saw Jerry the strong drake of the group being carried away by a big hunting dog. Jason almost hit a tree with a big poster saying, “DUCK HUNTING SEASON HAS STARTED!” Finally landing in remote woods, Jason was uttering soft reedy notes uncontrollably. “Mother, I’m so sorry, you saved my life, I didn’t know, I just didn’t know she was the enemy, she was so pretty all painted up. I just didn’t know.” Mother gave Jason a big feather down hug. “I should have warned you, ducklings, we must be extra careful now, and we are being hunted. The hunters will try anything to get us from whistles that sound like us, wooden mallards that look like us, netting and last placing food out to catch us. We must be on guard until duck hunting season is over and that sometimes goes right into winter.” Jason wiped away his tears with his feathers. “Mother is it safe now?” Mother looked around with alarm, “Little Ducklings we are not safe, until we get to Faith River, it’s the only place protected for our kind! Until we get to Faith River we must pray for God for guidance and lots of courage to never give up.” Ben will never forget the way his mother looked when his mother saved Jason by the grace of God saving his mother and brother. Quietly he said a pray of thanksgiving. Thank you for reading.
