A single rose always reminds me of taking time for quiet time. How stressful and overwhelming we can get with technology going faster and faster. Everything seems to be on steroids. When we were children, if we were overly active we were given a time out or quiet time. Remember those days? Back when... it was the worst punishment ever. When we got older, quiet time seems the best medicine. We need to take time to get away and have that quiet time to center ourselves. You are probable saying, "I don't have the time... I need to do this or that!" You must make the time, if it's only for 10 minutes. Breath. If you cannot meditate how about finding other ways to calm your mind. That could be doodling on a piece of paper, putting on your favorite music, dancing, taking a leisure walk, etc... Getting out into nature. Just take a few moments with silence. Turn off your cell phone, phones, social media, texts, etc...Breathe. Make appointment with yourself for quiet time. My all time favorite quiet time is going to a bookstore or library. I don't know why... but being around books always put me at peace and calm. After your quiet time ask yourself, "Do I feel more relax after my quiet time? Or do I feel more wired? If you feel wired? After a few times... experiencing quiet time your mind with slow down and you can finally enjoy your quiet time with yourself. Give it a try today.
