Petunia Slows Down
Imagine someone always rushing and always in hurry and self-absorbed racing for an ideal life; perfect mate, impeccable image, perfectionist, outstanding position, faultless lifestyle and trying to keep up with the Jones. Now visualize two horrible monsters Mop and Sob who wants to stop this overly self absorb person in her tracks. That's just what happens to my character Petunia in Petunia Slows Down.
The picture book takes a lighthearted look at Multiple Sclerosis. Multiple Sclerosis effects a person physically, emotionally, socially and mentally. Petunia Slows Down is for someone affected by Multiple Sclerosis, newly diagnosis or just someone who does not understand what a MS patient goes through daily. In Petunia Slows Down, Multiple Sclerosis has a face and the names are Mop and Sob, two ugly monsters who try to slow down Petunia. They try everything in their power like; mysterious glasses to blur her vision (optic neuritis) sitting on her feet and poking little pins in her hands to make them numb. They hold her tongue so she would slur her words; they play mind games so Petunia would get confused. Mop and Sob even has supernatural sleepy dust to make Petunia fatigued and really tire. Will Petunia win over these hideous monsters? Petunia needs help. Will Petunia win over Mop and Sob or will they take her body over?
